The Effect of Tillage Systems and Weed Control Methods on the Yield and Quality of Spelt Grain (Triticum aestivum ssp. spelta L.)

The aim of this three-year field experiment was to determine how simplified (reduced) pre-planting tillage and different weed control methods impact the yield selected quality parameters spelt grain (Triticum aestivum ssp. spelta L.). Conventional three variants reduced (RT) were tested. second experimental variable (weed control) had variants: mechanical (M), combined + chemical treatment at full herbicide rate (MC 100%), 25%-reduced 75%). method consisted harrowing wheat crop in fall spring. results showed that yields obtained under comparable those conventional tillage. However, proved be worse regimes. Herbicide applications, both rates, significantly improved compared with mechanical-only control. In particular, herbicide-treated crops boasted higher values thousand-kernel weight per ear.
